Stainless steel mesh in the architecture and design.

Only a few years stainless steel mesh are known as decorative and functional design element in architecture. The French National Library in Paris was the first architectural project in which the company GKD, in cooperation with the French architect, Dominique Perrault, managed to introduce wire mesh to the building structure, in different ways and for many applications. Since then, the trend has continued in countries around the world.

For decades GDK has gained experience in the manufacture of stainless steel mesh for industrial applications in filtration and separation technology and in the production lines. Initially, a factor that contributed to the use of meshes in architecture and design, was their visual attractiveness. In the course of continuous product development, it became obvious that the stainless steel mesh also have significant technological advantages, which are extremely important in the field of architecture. Currently, the architect has a wide range of ready-made samples of such meshes available, which form a family of designs reflecting our efforts to develop different solutions for different requirements of each application. With the weave mesh widths of up to eight meters it is possible they are used in the architecture of large buildings. At the beginning we invite you to familiarize yourself with information about different types of meshes. The "Application/References" part contains an overview of a wide range of solutions implemented to date in designing the exteriors, interiors and facilities. The section titled "Mounting Technology" contains a description of some recognized and proven technology solutions that can be treated as guidelines.
